Mother Puts a Stop to Military Ads |

NEW PALTZ, NY - Kathy Connors, mother of two and a member of Alternatives to Military (ATM), put a stop to some military advertising in her town. After learning of military recruitment ads on pizza take out boxes, she convinced two pizza shop owners to discontinue boxes use. "My mother is a great woman," says Kathy. "I learned from her how to love, honor, and protect all children. My work with ATM is one way I extend these teachings to our youth in a meaningful, peaceful way. More than 75% of enlistees do not get to use the moneys promised for school, nor does military service help many get jobs like is advertised on the pizza boxes or by recruiters."
