Billionaires for Bush (B4B), a Brooklyn-based activist group uses satire and street theater around the northeast US to spotlight the message that current Republican policies benefit the superrich at the expense of the rest of us. At rallies to address economic policies, stop the war, protect the environment, and celebrate local community, the B4B's arrive dressed in tuxedos, ball gowns, possibly noshing on 'champagne and caviar' and saunter through the crowds, making sure people know that some in the US - the country's billionaires - are simply delighted with the current administration. “[B4B] is a grassroots political action committee advocating for the rights and interests of people of phenomenal wealth. We go to Republican fundraisers and cheer on Bush’s wealthy donors as they pour millions into his campaign chest,” says Matthew R. Skomarovsky the co-chair of the national organization. He continues, “We go to town hall events with Republican officials and make sure our interests are given priority over the unwashed masses that also voted for Bush.” Their playful antics bring smiles and laughter, as well as increased awareness, to fellow activists and spectators alike.
