Paraphrased Hopi teaching: The time of the lone wolf is over. See who's with you. Celebrate. "The art of living in community has been lost. We are cultivating that - day in and day out," says Beth Brockman Miller, of PeaceWeavers community. "We are committed to compassionate living and conscious evolution, for ourselves and for the Earth." PeaceWeaver’s commitment to relearning the human art of living in community is working. Settled in the picturesque rolling hills of west-central New York, the group offers gatherings, healing work, retreats and intensives. In addition to regular circles and retreats, including their most popular - cleansing and fasting, PeaceWeavers offer two large annual retreats: the Natural Builders Colloquium and their Peace Gathering. Beth related how their community came to be. A core group formed as a talking circle in response to the first Iraqi War in 1991. They traveled together as a Peace and Healing Caravan across the United States, until a chance meeting in Mt. Shasta, CA led to the purchase of Thunder Mountain in west-central New York. They then created an intentional community that honors all traditions and weaves many spiritual practices together. Over the years, PeaceWeavers have been invited to coach struggling intentional communities around the region. And PeaceWeavers strive to be aware of their own neighborhood, both through their CSA gardens and their function as community center. At their core is love. Beth shared, "Anyone who chooses to weave people more closely together, being conscious and aware of the web of life, is a peace weaver. In our hearts we feel peace. Not someday, but now. It happens when we choose to weave it into our own lives. There are so many opportunities - with our kids, our coworkers, in line at the grocery store.” Contact: PeaceWeavers Email: pw@peaceweavers.com Website: www.peaceweavers.com Tel: 607-776-4060 |
