Building bridges, reaching out, connecting is at the cen ter of this fall edition. Love befriends generosity in "Rebuilding the Heart." Wealth dances with humility in "Grace of Giving." Activists act out the change in the report from the US Social Forum. Democracy speaks to the heart in "Sacred Activism". And yes, even football players in yoga are saluting the sun. In reality, we all desire the same things in life. We all wish for health, love, safety, and respect. In light of these essential basic needs our differences become minuscule.
As I was walking through the fields the other day, I was overcome by a heartfelt sense of belonging and gratitude. Belonging, as a being who really notices that this precious planet and everything in it is my home. I wept with gratitude at the wonder and clarity of this feeling.

This issue of Positive News is my attempt to go further than just give us useful information. My hope is to invite us to feel moved. I hope that we can go deep into the feelings and embrace the possibility that "we all belong here," "it is our birthright to be loved" and "we are already connected to everyone and everything under the sun." And therefore, it is all right for You and I to live our lives as if it were completely up to us to create a just, healthy, and joyous world for everybody.
