Why the world needs Positive News
As we are all too aware that there are enormous challenges facing our communities, societies, our ecosystems and ourselves as indviduals. Now more than ever, we need a positive alternative to the constant stream of pop- culture fluff and negative, fear based news that traditional mass media marketplace serves up. We need a new form of positive based media that serves as a platform for “good news” rather than “bad”, that champions solutions over problems, and fosters inspiration over desperation. Positive News pioneers that media space.

What Our Readers Say
Positive News is a journal of empowerment. The articles free us from the constraints of the 'can’t do' mentality that controls so much of our everyday lives. The stories inspire and encourage us to face our collective problems squarely and honestly and to find creative and effective ways of solving them.
~ Barbara Lifton, Member of the New York State Assembly I look forward to every new issue of Positive News. It is such a contrast to the usual negative fare of the mainstream media. Positive News provides us with a great opportunity to see how ordinary people here at home and around the world use common sense, imagination and an optimistic outlook to confront and deal with the whole range of issues and problems of modern society. Reading Positive News has become a habit that I don’t want to break. ~ Carolyn K. Peterson, Mayor, City of Ithaca, NY There’s a lot of negative news in the world, and if that’s all that people can think about, if that’s where our imaginations are locked, then things will spiral in that direction. That’s why we need a new medium for news about a better future that we all deserve and are capable of creating. - Paul Glover, Visionary I think of Positive News as I do our Alternative Community School--as providing an unique opportunity for people to see the world through a lens whose perspective focuses us on that which unconventionally beyond the mainstream, but that is rooted in building a capacity of progressive change and hope for the future. ~ Joe Greenburg, Principal, Alternative Community School When I read Positive News I feel like kids can also make a difference, other newspapers are so depressing. ~ Bob Kowalski, age 11 |
Positive News makes an epic difference in the world.
~ Joanna Macy, Author, Environmental Activist It's good to be reminded of the positive energy. Too often the focus is on the negative. Reading Positive News reminds me who I'm working for. ~ Lauren Signer, Chief of Police |
